Similar in concept to the town Monopoly games we’ve all seen in the past, Escondido Mystery Magazine is designed to be a fun and engaging read for mystery buffs in the community, as well as being an interactive advertising medium to the non-fan. The magazine will feature local people and places in its story line with participating advertisers prominently being mentioned as well. The “interactive” part comes in the form of a hunt for clues that will draw readers to participating establishments to try to “solve” the mystery and win a prize, as well as the recognition that comes from their seeing a place in the story and then again out in the community.
The stories are written in the style of a Mickey Spillane or Phillip Marlowe novel and have the “Film Noir” look of classic Hollywood mystery dramas of old. Printed primarily in black and white, Escondido Mystery Magazine will publish six monthly installments. Once a mystery series has been completed we will offer a special limited-run collector’s edition that includes the complete story that could be used as a very special gift for friends or for community group fundraising.
This publication is designed to appeal to the advertiser that has a limited budget and for those whom other print media has not proved effective. Advertising rates will be established soon and sales are set to begin. Be the first to get in on this fun, exciting concept in community advertising!
